Way better than Apple Calendar

**update, June 16th, 2016** I still think this is the best calendar app, but its been doing something annoying recently. If I leave it open in the background of my phone it seems to reset itself to the default settings and wipe-out any changes I made to it. Im not sure why that is, but, perhaps a dev could help a customer out?? :D (Or maybe Ill try the old delete/reinstall it trick...) **Original Review** As soon as I got my phone I was looking for a different calendar app than Apples default. I hated the little dots Apple used, and that I couldnt see at a glance what was coming up. I downloaded tons of calendar apps, but this one was far and away the best. Simple, beautiful, functional, and easy. Everyone I show it to is jealous (and then goes to get it!) So thanks for making my calendaring life better, Refills!

works infallibly

readily synchronizes between all Apple devices. will also automatically update from the standard Apple calendar voice dictation to it - also without any problems reminders, time of event/ appointments can be repeated in a verity of sequences

Easy to set up & see

Great app! Easy to organize. Love it

3years and going!!

My family has loved this App! We have it on all of our devices and use it to keep track of everything we are doing in our google calendars. We never double book anything since the app syncs the moment we add anything. I also love being able to see a "preview" of what we put on specific dates while its in the 31day view. Overall Ive never had one issue with this app or google colander, and hope I never do.

Love the visual format and ability to sync with my husbands calendar

I have tried many other calendars that claim to sync with family members but I really like the format of this one the best!! So easy and settings allow for what I most out of a calendar.

Love this app!

Love it, so far

So far, after about an hour of playing around/exploring it, I am beginning to love it. This can very possibly replace my paper calendar book. Well see how it goes for this next month.

What A Great App !!!!!

Many years of happy use ! Versatile, full of incredibly useful options and aides. Every new version is full of innovative thought!

Best DayTimer!

I have been using this app for about 2 years now, after going through a multitude of other apps. Visually, Refills reminds me of the paper DayTimers system that I used back in the 1980s. I like the fact that I can actually see events on the calendar for the entire month. Some of the other apps either dont show the event on the calendar monthly view or the writing is too light or too small to see. I also like being able to sync my personal calendar and my office calendar and have everything in one place. It was well worth the investment in my opinion. This is the first review Ive given an app. I use it on my iPhone and iPad and it works fine for both.

Great app!!!

But it is slower to open than in the past.

Worth it

This app is great for my small business, and future schedules. It works easily and quickly. I recommend it. Used this for at least 5 years without any problems.

Loved it at first, BUT....

First off, refills offers hands down the simplest & most intuitive interface of any calendar app available, and I so far intend to keep using it, BUT... My schedule involves many regularly repeating events in addition to singular, one-off ones, and Id desperately like some way of visually distinguishing them, preferably by color code. But refill offers no straightforward way of doing this. A workaround I found involves entering regular repeating events as "tasks," and singular appointments as "events" and then color coding "tasks" & "events" differently. Should solve problem, right? Nope, that would be too simple a solution... The PROBLEM is that for whatever reason, Refills pages refuse to show regularly repeating "tasks," not in monthly, weekly or daily view, even when you specifically TELL it to! It has no problem showing regularly repeating events, however. Soo...finally I inverted my workaround, by classifying all regularly repeating events as "events," and all singular appointments as "tasks." The PROBLEM NOW is that "task" entries offer far fewer specification features than "event" entries, so now when I create new single appointments as "tasks" I cant specify the place of address, phone number or other details most useful to that type of entry. Meanwhile dont need that level of detail with my routine events, since theyre routine! Hope this makes sense, since its kind of an advanced user feature at issue, but most frustratingly - one THAT WOULD BE SO SIMPLE TO SOLVE in ANY number of ways! Just enable calendar to show repeat tasks, or enable us to add more detail to tasks. Or simplest of all, just offer a way to COLOR CODE DIFFERENT ENTRIES DIFFERENTLY! I had such high hopes of Refill, but for me this is a biggy and basis to search onward for the calendar app that has it all....

Great App

This is a great app. I am using the app on both my iPad and iPhone. I have found many of the features I thought were missing are actually included. I had a little trouble setting up my devices but it may be because I dont read instructions. Once I set it up it is a dream come true. It is so nice to be able to look at your calendar and have your task integrated. You can see your meetings and things to do at one time. No more going to different apps. Only drawback I see is you cant set a time to a task/reminder. Of course you can create an timed event but I like to keep my events separate from tasks or reminders. I find the week view most useful to my needs - much better layout. I have it synced with google and and my ical and no problems. I find it well worth the money

A bit disappointed.

Thought this syncd with iCloud. I dont have nor want google calendar. Would be great if it syncd with the "Reminders" app. That would make it perfect for me. Other than that it is a very good looking app that I shall come back to when synching is sorted out.

Almost perfect

I love the way the calendar works, however it would be nice if the app either communicated with the reminders app or if it could work more like the reminders app. I dont want to delete a task for it to go away, I would like it to be filed in a done folder by date and no longer show as in the task list. Once the task feature has been perfected, nothing will come close to to being as comprehensive.

Fantastic

This is a GREAT calendar app. Im amazed. This is smooth. Clean. And not glitchy. Yay!

Simple, efficient, complete

This calendar is extremely well designed. The UI is very very natural to use, so much so that if I dont know how to do something I guess and it almost always works. The UI is simple, elegant, and customizable in all the ways I need. I Have used quite a few calendar apps and like this one best. Ive been a Pocket Informant user for a few years, but this UI stole me away and I eventually just deleted Pocket Informant. I use Refills (dumb name) for both iPad and iPhone and find them both very easy to use, though the interface is better on iPad because of the size, the iPhone interface is perfectly serviceable and I have no complaints. I sync with google calendar so I have the my calendar on my iPad, iPhone, and Desktop. The sync has worked flawlessly and is quick as well. The task "todo" function is obviously an afterthought, functionally barren and not useful at all for anyone who uses todo as an integral part of work life. Perhaps they will add functionality at some point but at present there is not enough there for it be useful to me. The todo part of this app is the reason it gets 4 stars.. The calendar itself gets a very solid 5 stars. You can try the Rees version to get a true feel of how it works but I think this app is well worth its high price. I would recommend this to a friend without hesitation.

Uses to be great... now it stopped working

With the latest upgrade, stopped working on my 5.0.1 iphone... developer doesnt support older firmware from just 1 year ago??? If someone told me Id buy for $10 and it wouldnt last for longer than 1 year, Id never buy it...

The best planner app - bar none!

After spending countless number of hours and wasting more than $50 on woefully inadequate planner apps, I have finally found an app that works. Being a power user I needed a performance planner app that offered cross-platform functionality between my iPhone, iPad and Outlook on desktop application. Using Google tasks (which I highly recommend over iCloud tasks due to limited functionality and limited number of planner apps), this planner meets my requirements for robust syncing and functionality. The app is crisp in layout, has an excellent engine for syncing and offers a fair bit of customization. Note: It could use a few minor improvements (e.g. changing color of text for tasks, providing a task view that does not show completed tasks and others) that I hope will be included in future improvements. If you are wondering how I sync google gmail and tasks to Outlook, I use gsyncit which is also an excellent tool for bringing everything full circle. I have tried CalPad, Plan & Note, gtasks, Planner Pro, Opus Domini, Planner&, and so many others. They are all a bunch of junk. For instance, this is the only tool among the bunch that correctly categorizes a task as a task, not an event... if you know what that means, this is the right app. This is the real deal. I love it and think you will too. This is a great planning tool and I highly recommend! ---------- Update: Ive been using now for the past month, multiple times per day. Still believe this is THE BEST planner app available. However, there are a couple issues that need to be addressed at the next version having to do with task management. I do not want to delete my completed tasks and need to keep them for future reference. But each day I may have 10+ tasks so the views are becoming quite cluttered since they are not filtering out the completed tasks. 1. On the Day view do not show completed tasks. 2. In the task view, when choosing My Tasks or the Due Date view do not show completed tasks. Only show completed tasks on the Completed Task view. One final suggestion - please allow reoccurring tasks, similarly like what is allowed through google tasks. Minor improvements will enhance this already excellent app. -------------------- Update 2: Just found that the app does not allow sending an invitation for events to participants. Unfortunately after posting an event, I have to go Apple Calendar and add invitees manually. This is another minor enhancement that needs to be done ASAP.

Best Yet

This is a great calendar, very professional looking. The Developer is quick to reply to questions. Invite and View Attendees is missing and hopefully will be added soon.
